Belongs to the new and young generation of civil society activists demanding for stronger governance, equal rights and a society that values integrity and honestly. Her background is in International Relations but since graduating from the University of Colombo she has been attached to the Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL), the Sri Lankan chapter of the global movement against corruption. She has travelled to a number of TI Chapters including its Secretariat in Berlin and have interacted with internationally recognized anti-corruption fighters such as Aruna Roy, Arvind Kejriwal and Nobel laureate Tawakkol Karman as well as grassroots activists that tackle corruption on a day to day basis. Sashee is trained on theories and concepts of corruption and how to design local solutions to address corruption. She is also a trained election observer and is a subject expert on Right to Information. She currently holds the designation Senior Manager Programs at TISL and overseas all programs implemented by TISL in Sri Lanka.

Anti-corruption and governance is not her only passion. She is involved in other forms of activism especially related to the rights of women. She is the co-founder of Respect: Stop Street Harassment, which is a movement focused on getting women to speak about their experience of street harassment in Sri Lanka and finding solutions within the community to address it. She was also recognized as “a promising young leader and opinion former in the framework of the EUVP study program” in 2016.
